Our range of ultrasonic thickness gauges come with a right-angle 5MHz probe as standard with dual LEMO 00 connections. This probe suits most general thickness testing applications.

From time to time, some specific applications cannot be completed with the standard probe due to limited access, thickness of the material or temperature etc. Depending on your application, there are various additional probes that can be used to achieve the best result.

Some are for dense material and others are best suited for smaller diameter pipe and tube.

See below for the various options that we can supply:

Mini Probe (6mm)

Is best to be used on curved surfaces with a diameter of at least 15mm.  As the probe has a smaller surface area, 6mm diameter, it is for better coupling with the curved surface of the material that is being measured.  This probe with a higher frequency of 6MHz so therefore a shorter wavelength is suited measurement of thinner materials.

Right-angled 90° Probe

Used for access where the straight probe is too long to fit.

2MHz Probe

The 2MHz probe is used for high penetration as it uses a lower frequency and therefore a longer wavelength to achieve results with thicker samples

High Temperature Probe

A special casing allows the high temperature probe to be used for the measurement of thickness of materials that are at a temperature of up to 300°C
