Probe Transducers

Our ultrasonic thickness gauges come with a 10mm Diameter 5MHz probe as standard with LEMO 00 connections.  This generally the case with other ultrasonic thickness gauges that suit general use.  From time to time applications can't be completed with the standard probe due to access, thickness of material, curvature of the material or temperature.  To solve this issue we have a range of additional probes that use LEMO 00 connection to be compatible with a large range of thickness testers.

Mini Probe (6mm)

Is best to be used on curved surfaces with a diameter of at least 15mm.  As the probe has a smaller surface area, 6mm diameter, it is for better coupling with the curved surface of the material that is being measured.  This probe with a higher frequency of 6MHz so therefore a shorter wavelength is suited measurement of thinner materials.

Right-angled 90° Probe

Used for access where the straight probe is too long to fit.

2MHz Probe

The 2MHz probe is used for high penetration as it uses a lower frequency and therefore a longer wavelength to achieve results with thicker samples

High Temperature Probe

A special casing allows the high temperature probe to be used for the measurement of thickness of materials that are at a temperature of up to 300°C
