PENETROMETER

General classification of soil and fruit firmness.

Pocket Penetrometers to measure the compaction of soils and ripeness of fruits. They measure in kg/cm2 on an analogue dial scale and are compact, lightweight for ease of use and portability.

Soil Penetrometers come in three types. A Basic type that measures in 0-6 kg/cm2 for general soil Hardness or 3-15 kg/cm2 scale range for heavily compacted soils/clay; and a "GeoTester" that has a dual scale and 5 different size tips that can handle all types of soils from loose, sandy loams through to heavy clay.

Fruit Penetrometer feature specific diameter test tips to cover a wide variety of fruits to determine hardness and ripeness. Special versions available for small, soft fruits.
