Refractometers measure the total soluble (dissolved) solids in an aqueous solution using light refraction method. The Refractive Index of a sample varies depending on its concentration and can be used to convert into many other useful units of measure.

Digital type Refractometers are highly accurate instruments that remove the subjective nature of traditional optical testers. 

Manual (optical) refractometers offer users graduated lines on a scale used to reference the sample fluid, which is seen as a colour change.

We stock a wide range of portable analogue and digital refractometers. They are available in various scales for Brix (sugar), Refractive Index or hydration (specific gravity) measurement.
