on the type and physical properties of the material.  Some probes suit denser material and others work better on rounded surfaces than the standard probes.  See below for the various options that we other ultrasonic thickness gauges that suit general use.  From time to time applications can't be completed with the standard probe due to access, thickness of material, curvature of the material or temperature.  To solve this issue we have a range of additional probes that use LEMO 00 connection to be compatible with a large range of thickness area, 6mm diameter, it is for better coupling with the curved surface of the material that is being measured.  This probe with a higher frequency of 6MHz so therefore a shorter wavelength is suited
